Defining Interior Design Styles – Rustic Lighting

Interior Designing is an art and science to enhance the decor in a space to feel aesthetically pleased and relaxed. It is natural for human beings to live in an enhanced and adorned place. The ancient people used hand-made paintings, fireworks, frescoes, etc., to create a comfortable and pleasing environment. With the passage of time, innovations have been made and interior design has become a challenging art with lots of artistic and intellectual products; one of them is called rustic lighting.

Characteristics of Rustic Lighting

Great emphasis has been placed on modernization in recent years. This trend has affected almost every aspect of daily life. Consider, for example, the global dominance of the cell phone industry, which provides the public with newer, smaller and more elegant phones in what seems like a weekly basis. Or maybe fashion trends that constantly change within popular culture.

These forces of "progress" in the work of society can be seen in interior design. In this hurried race to the future people tend to lose touch with everything that has stood the test of time. The use of rustic lighting in interior design, is frequently overlooked. Although it can be seen by popular culture as obsolete, rustic lighting is a simple way to give your home a warm charm.

This simplicity is, in fact, at the very heart of the rustic lighting concept. We use luxury materials or intricate designs on the accessories, and the lighting methods are generally quite basic. So why should someone choose this style of lighting over one that can become more complex or surprising? It's simple: the style is very accessible. A room lit with this lighting style will look much cozier than a room with a more modern system. The room will attract more people and will make them feel as if they were at home.

Rustic lighting creates a homely and cozy atmosphere for several reasons. The rustic accessories are made of simple materials, such as copper, iron, and minerals such as mica, or glass, either colored or clear. Generally, they do not have gold or silver ornaments. While this may be the astonishment factor, it favors intimacy in space. A space decorated with more elegant lighting can provide extraordinary insight, but in the end, when the sense of wonder disappears, it can make people feel out of place.

As mentioned earlier, many articles of this style use mica or colored glass. This gives the room light a bit of dye, which will significantly change the atmosphere of an area. Mica, for example, has an oxidized orange brown color, which when light seeps through it, gives the room a touch of earth, providing a warm feeling of sunset or chimney. People naturally have a sense of warmth and security in the face of these light tones.

This principle, however, also means that rustic lighting does not fit all spaces. The design and color of the room have to be compatible with the light you choose, or else it will end up with a totally different space than what you initially wanted. The clash of colors or styles can make your room feel uncomfortable instead of cozy.

In this current trend of the Rustic style, the Rustic Chic; the aged metal lamps combined with transparent glass fit very well. It is a key trend that can be adapted in all the environments of the house, for both kitchens and dining rooms as well as living rooms and bathrooms.
